I’ve been enjoying my 2024 Kona Hybrid for about six months, but I’ve run into a weird issue with the infotainment system and Android Auto. Everything works fine, music, Google Maps, etc., but phone calls have suddenly gone mute. I can see incoming calls on the screen and accept them, but there’s no sound on either end. Outgoing calls have the same issue, connected but completely silent.
Here’s what I’ve already tried:
Verified that the infotainment mic isn’t muted.
Checked the Bluetooth volume (all the way up).
Performed a reset and hard reset of the system.
Connected via USB cable, no change.
Tested three different Android phones (including my Pixel 6), and the issue persists.
Confirmed it’s not a Google Assistant volume issue.
Interestingly, Android Auto shows a notification saying it’s “muting some sounds.” Could that be the culprit?
I’m stumped and missing the ability to use the hands-free system for calls. Has anyone experienced this or found a fix?
