Could the oil be migrating along the bolt threads?

While applying Cerakote, I spotted a mysterious wet spot and later discovered oil droplets near the rear motor mount after moving the car. A puzzling puddle under the hood suggested that oil might be migrating along a bolt thread, even though the oil level was fine. I took the car to the dealer, where hours of investigation and a dye test were performed, and now I'm waiting for a completed work order after about 621 miles.

Oil sneaking along bolt threads is definitely puzzling, but it seems like a solid theory. Another possibilty could be a faulty seal or gasket in that area. It’s great that you got the dealer involved for a thorough investigation. Hopefully, the work order comes through soon, and everything gets sorted out. Fingers crossed it’s nothing major

It sounds like you've got a real detective story on your hands to figure out that leak. That's unusual, but not impossible. Good on you for taking it to the dealer. I hope they figure it out soon. Keep us updated on what they find! I'm really curious to know what's going on. Maybe a faulty seal or a hairline crack somewhere?

Yeah, it’s definitely a mystery. I’m hoping it’s just a seal and not something worse. I’ll update once I get the work order back.
