I’ve had my 2024 Hyundai Kona EV for a bit now, and there’s something that doesn’t seem quite right.

After I turn off the car, there’s a persistent fan noise coming from behind the rear passenger seat. I can feel air blowing out near the seat latch when I recline it. The fan keeps running for hours but I can’t figure out what it’s for.

I checked the manual but didn’t see anything obvious. Could this be cooling for an accessory battery, the audio system, or something else? Is it normal, or should I get it checked out?

That sounds like the battery cooling system running post-shutdown, it’s normal in some cases, but if it persists for hours, dealer check recommended.

it's probably part of the battery cooling system but it shouldn't run that long. It might be a bad sensor, a stuck part or a computer problem. Some cooling after driving is normal but this is too much. You should take it to the dealer right away. It might be a small problem, but it could also mean something's wrong with the battery cooling which is really important for your car. Don't ignore it!

Any updates? Would sharing it with everyone?
