Carrying a kayak on the roof

Hi everyone! My car doesn't have a sunroof. I installed the one from my previous car (it was compatible). I was wondering if I could carry a kayak (around 9ft) on it. Or, do you have any better ideas?

For a 9ft kayak, a roof rack system with kayak holders might be a better option. It’ll offer more stability and protection.
 
Another option is using a trailer hitch rack. It keeps the kayak lower, making loading and unloading a breeze, and saves your roof from taking too much of a beating.
