A lot of the time when cars burn oil, it's because people either don't change their oil often enough or they use really low-quality oil. Basically, the oil breaks down and leaves this gunk carbon deposits that clog up the piston rings. And if those rings get too gummed up, they can actually get stuck and stop sealing properly, which is what leads to oil burning.

Some Kona owners have had problems with their cars using too much oil. This means they have to add oil more often than they should. This could be caused by engine problems like issues with piston rings or valve seals or even just how the engine was made. If you see your car using a lot of oil keep track of how much you're adding and tell the dealer right away. Don't let them tell you it's okay it's a sign of a problem that needs fixing.
