I wasn't happy with the plain look of my Kona's front end, so I decided to give it a bit of personality. I added a black triangle cover, attached a strip of composite trim, and then painted it all a vibrant cherry red. 3m tape kept everything securely in place, and I finished it off with a custom tag.

I'm already planning my next move – adding a matching cherry red trim line below the doors and across the back. But here's the thing: I'm worried about the 3m tape not holding up in the long run.

Has anyone else customized their Kona? Any tips for applying trim that will actually last?

Your customizations sound great but I’d be cautious about the 3M tape holding up long-term. Even the automotive-grade tape can lose its grip if the surface isn’t prepped properly or if it’s exposed to extreme weather and temperatures. Make sure the surface is completely clean and dry before applying and press the tape down firmly to help it cure. For extra security you might consider using a bit of adhesive promoter. It’s a little more effort and probably expensive but it could save you from redoing it later.
