The cause of our Kona's battery drain problem has finally been identified after weeks of frustration and troubleshooting. It was the CAA Insurance dongle!

The dongle's technology appears to be incompatible with the Kona's systems, which keeps the vehicle from entering sleep mode and using up its battery.

We can finally enjoy our Kona without having to worry about unplanned battery failures now that the dongle has been removed.

I hope anyone reading this with the same problems tries checking the dongle.

That's a really interesting information about the impact of dongles on battery life. It's concerning though that so many people are experiencing similar issues. Seems like an oversight on the part of insurance companies and automakers these days.

It's definitely worth checking whether the dongle is causing the battery drain. You could try disconnecting it temporarily to see if there's any improvement. Try to reach out to Hyundai/Kia customer support to see if they have any information or solutions.
